Exactly a year ago, I started my blog on 10th October,2016 ย and pressed the publish button. ๐Ÿ’Œ I remember during my childhood I used to help my mother in the kitchen and would note down all the recipes.

Since then it became a ritual to maintain my recipe collections and now it is a cook book. But as time flew (read as married),I started to spend more time in kitchen and undying penchant to try new recipes.

So I decided to make one of my best cake recipe Double Layered Chocolate Truffle Cake. (

and celebrate my blog anniversary which is super-hit among my family and friends circle.

This “little blog” has grown into so much more than I could have ever imagined over the past year.

I just wanted to thank you each and everyone for inspiring,motivating, stopping by my blog and appreciating.

Navratri Special – Bharwa Lauki with Kadhi/Stuffed Bottle Gourd with Kadhi

Day 7!!

Bharwa Lauki with Kadhi is the newly added recipe in my collection, tried and tested and instantly approved by my husband with two thumbs-up. It can be relished during fasting and as a breakfast or evening snacks.

Let’s get started

Preparation Time- 10 minutes,Cooking Time- 20-30 minutes, Servings- 2.


Lauki (Bottle Gourd) – 1 Medium,

Curd- ย 1 cup,

Amarnath(Rajgira) Flour-2 tbsp,

Boiled potatoes-2 tbsp,

Green chillies chopped-3,

Powdered Black pepper – 1 tsp,

Rock Salt-1 tbsp,

Groundnut Oil -to fry.


  1. Peel lauki,cut into roundels,and remove seeds from the centre to make hollow.
  2. In a bowl, add mashed potatoes,green chiilies and black pepper mix well,mashing lightly.
  3. Stuff the roundel centres with mashed potatoes batter.
  4. Heat a oil in a non stick pan, add cloves and cardamom for saute.Place bottle gourd(lauki) on the pan and cook till golden brown. Cover it with lid so that’s it is cooked at the earliest.
  5. Uncover and flip it the other side.
  6. To prepare kadhi, add curd,amarnath flour,salt and black pepper and mix well.
  7. Add 1/2 cup water, and whisk well to make a smooth batter.
  8. ย Pour the curd batter in another non stick pan,cook it, stirring continuously till the mixture thickens.
  9. Put some of the kadhi in a serving plate,arrange stuffed bottle gourd roundels over it and serve it immediately.Serve the remaining kadhi as required.

Rajgira Mathri/Amarnath Flour Chips

Day 5!

Preparation Time- 10 mins, Cooking Time- 5 mins,Serves- 4


1 1/2 Cup Rajgira flour (Amarnath flour),

1 tsp Sendha namak(Rock Salt),

less than 1/4 cup water (approximately),

Groundnut oil for deep frying.


1. In a bowl mix Amarnath flour, sendha namak and water till the dough is soft.

2. Cover the dough with wet muslin cloth for 15 minutes.

3. Divide the dough into small equal medium sized balls and roll it with rolling pin.

4. Prick it with fork and deep fry it.

5. Relish these Mathris with tea, coffee or hot almond milk.

Fasting Recipe- Makhane ki Kheer/ Lotus-seed Kheer/Foxnut Pudding

Day Four!๐Ÿ˜‡

Tired of having roasted Makhana/Foxnut on fasting days?? I wanted to have something sweet to satisfy my taste buds so thought of making Makhana kheer/ foxnuts pudding and here I am sharing recipe with you all .

Preparation Time – 10 minutes

Cooking Time- 30 minutes

Serving -2


Milk-3 cups,

Ghee-2 tablespoons ,

Sugar- 5 tablespoons ,

Cardamom powder(elaichi)- 1/4 tsp,

Crushed almonds – 5-6 pieces,

Raisins(kishmish)- 8-10 pcs,

Makhana/Lotus Seeds/Foxnuts -1 cup roasted and crushed,

Mace powder-(Javitri) – 1 pinch


1. Place a fry pan on low heat. Add ghee in it.

2. Now add the chopped makhane to the pan, sautรฉ for 2-3 minutes. Remove the makhane and keep them aside. Crush the fried makhanas with a rolling pin.

3.Now, take a deep bottom pan add milk and give it a boil.

4. Then, add cardamom powder, mace powder, roasted and crushed Makhane, almond and raisins. Give it a stir.

5. Reduce heat and cook on low flame for another 20-25 minutes, stirring constantly till the milk attains a thicker consistency or reduces to ยพ.

6. During this period, keep on stirring every 2 minutes so that it does not stick to the sides, bottom and burn.

7. Add sugar as per your taste. Stir continuously.

8. Remove from heat and transfer to a bowl.

9. Garnish it with pistachios.

10. Serve hot and enjoy.

Modak Poli!!

Yes Ganesh Chaturthi is here!! The festival of Lord Ganesha which is celebrated throughout India with fun and frolic!๐ŸŽŠ


To celebrate this auspicious period of 10 days, I decided to make Modak Poli! Yes you heard it right! Modak Poli is a dish with a twist of Modak filling inside Poli dough!!

So let me share the recipe with you all guys!! Make your Ganesh Chaturthi special with Modak Poli!


Preparation Time: 10 minutes,

Cooking Time : 20 minutes,

Servings :6




For Filling-


Coconut Powder – 1 cup,

Jaggery-1 cup

Crushed Dry Fruits- 1/2 cup

Elaichi Powder – 2 tbsp


For Dough-

Maida – 1 cup,

Rice Flour – 1 cup

Lukewarm Water- According to texture( softness of the dough)

Ghee- To roast





  1. Firstly, we will prepare the filling for that we will take coconut powder, jaggery and crushed dry fruits and mix well.
  2. Heat the pan, add ghee and roast the mixture well until brown.
  3. Now when it’s has been stirred well until brown turn off the flame and let it cool.



For Dough –

  1. In a bowl, add maida, rice flour and knead it with lukewarm water until soft.
  2. Cover the dough with wet cloth for 30 minutes.
  3. Now make balls from the dough and fill it with filling.
  4. Roll it with hands without the help of rolling pin.
  5. Roast it on the pan with ghee until brown on both sides.



Your Modak Poli is ready!! Relish it with your family and friends.

Birthday Treat-Orange Velvet Cupcakes

Orange Velvet Cupcakes.

Orange Velvet..!!?? Yes you heard it right. I tried these cupcakes on my birthday and trust me it came out spongy and delicious. My day just does not pass by baking or trying new recipes to satisfy my never ending weakness for sweets, cakes, cupcakes and chocolates. I have made these cupcakes without cream(upper layer).

So lets get started on this roller-coaster cupcake rideย and put on your gloves and apron.

Preparation Time:5 minutes, Baking Time:10 minutes, Servings -2.

All we need is


Orange Velvet Mixture-1 cup,

All purpose flour (Maida)- 1 cup,

Baking powder-1 tsp,

Baking Soda – 1 pinch,

Curd- 2 cup,

Condensed Milk-1 cup,

Melted Butter- 1 cup,


Step 1: In a bowl,mix orange velvet mixture,all purpose flour,curd and melted butter.Stir it well until the butter is mixed properly.

Step 2: Add baking powder,baking soda and condensed milk, mix well and now combine the stirred batter.

Step 3: Grease the cupcake mould with ghee/butter,place your desired cupcake cover and pour the batter in the cupcake.

Step 4: Now bake the cupcakes at 180*C for 10 minutes.


Step 5: Remove these beauties from the oven,let them cool and you can top it with desired fruits. I have topped it with strawberries!

Golden Curry

Golden Curry

Preparation Time: 10 mins, Cooking Time -10 minutes. Servings-4


Baby Potatoes-8

For Saute-
Oil-1 tbsp,
Garam Masala-2 tsp,
Salt to taste

For Curry
Oil-1 tsp
Cumin seeds- 1 pinch
Green chilli-1
Garam Masala-1 tsp,
Turmeric Powder-1 tsp,
Coriander powder-1 tsp,
Red Chilli powder-1 tsp

For Stuffing:
Few Makhanas,(foxnut or lotus seeds)
Few Almonds,
Few Raisins,
Small Elaichi (Cardamom)
Chopped Green Chilly โ€“ 1,
Salt to taste

Letโ€™s first peel off potatoes skin and scoop out the inside of potatoes as well. Now pour 1 tsp oil in a pan and sautรฉ potatoes with pinch of salt and red chilli powder. Keep stirring it for a while.
In the meantime, we will prepare the stuffing and for that we will need few cashew, raisins, makhana (fox nut),almonds and the remaining batter of potatoes.


Grind it in mixer, make a paste of it and stuff it in the sauted potatoes

Now take a pan, add 1 tsp of oil in a pan,1 bay leaf,3 cloves, cumin seeds and asafoetida (hing) -1 pinch. As soon as cumin seeds start spluttering put the paste of tomatoes, green chill,garam masala, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt which has to be grinded in a mixer . As soon as oil starts leaving from the paste, put stuffed potatoes, cardamom powder and lukewarm water. Transfer the gravy into cooker on high flame after two big whistles and turn it in slow flame after one whistle. You can turn it off now.


Garnish it with ghee and bay leaf.


Serve it with hot naan,roti or paratha.
