Birthday Musings- ORANGE VELVET CAKE

Orange Velvet Cake

Orange is the New Black! Red Velvet Cakes are passe..So lets bake it and make it birthday special.

Preparation Time:5 minutes, Baking Time:10 minutes, Servings -2.

All we need is


Oranges-1, (We will use them as a slice)

Orange Velvet Mixture-1 cup,

All purpose flour (Maida)- 1 cup,

Baking powder-1 tsp,

Baking Soda – 1 pinch,

Curd- 2 cup,

Condensed Milk-1 cup,

Melted Butter- 1 cup,


Step 1: In a bowl,mix orange velvet mixture,all purpose flour,curd and melted butter.Stir it well until the butter is mixed properly.


Step 2: Add baking powder,baking soda and condensed milk, mix well and now combine the stirred batter.


Step 3: Grease the bakeware with butter and pour the batter. In between add sliced oranges and then again pour the batter, put sliced oranges and finally cover with batter. You have to do it twice.



Step 4: Bake at 180*C for 20 minutes.


Step 5: Let it cool and relish.





As I am a vegetarian, I have used curd instead of eggs.




Banana Coconut Mashup

Banana Coconut Mashup is one of my favorite dessert recipe. I came across this beauty while holidaying in Havelock Islands,Andamans,India. This was the most enjoyed delicacy I relished during my stay in Havelock Islands.

So I thought to make this dessert one fine Sunday evening and here I am with this super quick dessert recipe sharing with you all. All you need is 1 dozen bananas, 1 cup coconut powder,2 cup biscuit powder and 1 can of condensed milk.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes, Cooking Time: 10 minutes, Servin-6.



First prepare the base with biscuit powder, then prepare the first layer with finely sliced bananas in round shape,layer it with coconut powder and pour little condensed milk











Repeat the layer till your glass is not filled up. This easy recipe is ideal for kids,family get-together or friends reunion.

Banana Muffins:

Preparation Time: 5 mins, Cooking Time: 15 minutes, Servings: 4


Bananas (Overripe)-4,

Milk-1 cup,

All purpose flour-1 cup,

Sugar-1 cup,

Baking Powder- 1 tsp,

Baking Soda-1 tsp,

Vanilla Essence-1 tsp,

Sunflower seeds-1 tsp,

Flax seeds-1 tsp,

Salt- A pinch.


Add 3-4 mashed bananas(overripped), all purpose flour, sugar, Salt, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda,flax seed sunflower seeds, milk & vanilla essence & pour it in a bowl.






Pour it in cupcakes shape cup. Bake it in for 15 mins at 180*C.

Instant Coffee Cookies

Preparation Time:5 mins, Cooking Time: 5 mins, Servings-4.


Biscuit Powder- 1 cup

Cocoa powder-1/2 cup,

Butter- 1/2 cup,

Coffee -1/2 tsp.


Firstly, lets melt the butter in the pan. Add biscuit powder and cocoa powder in the pan and mix it well. Now sprinkle 1/2 tsp coffee and take it out from the stove.


Let it cool and then make balls.

Preparation Time: 5-7 minutes, Cooking Time: 15 minutes, Serving- 4.


Biscuit Powder- 1 cup,


Cocoa Powder-2 tbsp,

White Chocolate

Honey-For garnishing.


Firstly, mash the bananas and add biscuit powder,cocoa powder in a bowl. Make a dough of it and make balls. Freeze it for 15 minutes.


In the meantime, we will melt the white chocolate  (compound) over it and put the freezed ball on the butter paper and chill until firm. Garnish it with honey.

Easy Raspberry Coconut Pudding Cake

Preparation Time: 5 minutes, Cooking Time: 10 minutes, Servings- 2.


Mashed Raspberry (In a mixie)-1 cup,

Coconut Powder-1/2 tsp,

All purpose flour-1 tbsp,

Sugar-1/2 cup,

Baking Powder-1 tsp,

Baking Soda- 1 tsp,


For decorations

Sprinklers (Star Shape)


Take a bowl and add whipped raspberries,coconut powder,all purpose flour,baking powder,baking soda and sugar. Mix it well.Pour it into desired shape container and freeze it for 1o minutes.


Garnish it with chopped slice of kiwis.


Your Raspberry Coconut Pudding is ready to be served!! Enjoy your Christmas holidays with this delicious recipe.

Raspberry Coconut Mashup in a Jar..! Sounds so tempting,Isn’t it!? This dessert recipe is one of my favorites and perfect for winters.  So this Christmas,on my blog I have come up with “Christmas Dessert Series” where i will be sharing my dessert recipes with you all. This is a very easy and quick dessert recipe that can be prepared in 10 minutes.

Preparation Time:10 minutes.Cooking Time: No cooking time, Servings-2.


For batter

Raspberry- 1 cup,

Grated Coconut:1 cup,

All purpose flour (Maida): 1 cup,

Butter- 3/4 cup,

Sugar-1/2 cup,

Baking Powder- 1 tsp,

For Layering-

Biscuit crumbs- 1 cup,

Coconut Powder-1/2 cup,

Milkmaid-1/2 cup,

Kiwi -1


Let’s first prepare the raspberry coconut batter. Take a bowl and add churned raspberries,coconut,sugar, melted butter,all purpose flour and baking powder. Make a proper batter of it and keep it aside.




Now let’s start preparing the layering in the jar. Place the first layer of biscuit crumbs or powder in the jar. With topping it up with coconut powder,milkmaid and raspberry coconut batter.




Decorate it with finely chopped cubes of kiwi.
