Birthday Musings- ORANGE VELVET CAKE

Orange Velvet Cake

Orange is the New Black! Red Velvet Cakes are passe..So lets bake it and make it birthday special.

Preparation Time:5 minutes, Baking Time:10 minutes, Servings -2.

All we need is


Oranges-1, (We will use them as a slice)

Orange Velvet Mixture-1 cup,

All purpose flour (Maida)- 1 cup,

Baking powder-1 tsp,

Baking Soda – 1 pinch,

Curd- 2 cup,

Condensed Milk-1 cup,

Melted Butter- 1 cup,


Step 1: In a bowl,mix orange velvet mixture,all purpose flour,curd and melted butter.Stir it well until the butter is mixed properly.


Step 2: Add baking powder,baking soda and condensed milk, mix well and now combine the stirred batter.


Step 3: Grease the bakeware with butter and pour the batter. In between add sliced oranges and then again pour the batter, put sliced oranges and finally cover with batter. You have to do it twice.



Step 4: Bake at 180*C for 20 minutes.


Step 5: Let it cool and relish.





As I am a vegetarian, I have used curd instead of eggs.



Easy Raspberry Coconut Pudding Cake

Easy Raspberry Coconut Pudding Cake

Preparation Time: 5 minutes, Cooking Time: 10 minutes, Servings- 2.


Mashed Raspberry (In a mixie)-1 cup,

Coconut Powder-1/2 tsp,

All purpose flour-1 tbsp,

Sugar-1/2 cup,

Baking Powder-1 tsp,

Baking Soda- 1 tsp,


For decorations

Sprinklers (Star Shape)


Take a bowl and add whipped raspberries,coconut powder,all purpose flour,baking powder,baking soda and sugar. Mix it well.Pour it into desired shape container and freeze it for 1o minutes.


Garnish it with chopped slice of kiwis.


Your Raspberry Coconut Pudding is ready to be served!! Enjoy your Christmas holidays with this delicious recipe.

Double Layered Chocolate Truffle Cake

Double Layered Chocolate Truffle Cake

Preparation Time: 10 mins,  Cooking Time: 30 minutes. Servings:4-5


1 Hide & Seek and  Parle G Biscuit
Baking soda small pinch
Cocoa Powder- 1 tsp,
3/4 cup milk
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder (Dalchini) (optional)
1/2 cup cashew
2 tbs sugar
1 tsp butter (or ghee)
1 tsp maida (or atta)
6 (to 8) almonds
Dark Chocolate or Nutella- 1 tsp (One Tsp)



Apply butter or ghee inside cooker container and keep aside. Grind Parle-G and Hide-n-Seek biscuit in mixie. Take biscuit powder in bowl and add baking soda,cashew,cocoa powder,cinnamon powder,maida,sugar and mix it. Add milk in bowl and mix it properly. Process should be immediate after adding milk. Add batter in 2 container and keep it in cooker on mesh-plate without adding water. 


Take out rubber gasket and whistle from cooker lid and close cooker. Now put cooker on full flame for 5 minutes  and after that 20 minutes on medium flame. Turn off the gas and let it cool. Now take the cake from both the containers and place it on the plate.

 Now garnish the first layer of the cake with shredded almonds and icing sugar. Place the second cake on top of it,garnish it with shredded almonds and icing sugar. For garnishing melt dark chocolate and spread it on cake properly  and sprinkle shredded almonds.

Your delicious cake is ready to be served.
